What is Perovskite?
Perovskite is a unique crystal structure with the formula ABX₃, where A and B are cations and X is an anion. In solar cell applications, these materials exhibit exceptional light absorption, charge carrier mobility, and tunable bandgaps.
Unlike traditional silicon solar cells, Perovskite solar cells can be manufactured using simpler, lower-temperature processes, making them significantly cheaper to produce while achieving comparable or superior efficiency rates.
Perovskite materials absorb light across a broader spectrum than silicon, capturing more energy from sunlight and performing better in low-light and diffuse light conditions.
